The IP BAT LTE is fully compatible with quite a few of the major manufacturer’s alarm panels. The high-gain antennae boost signal strength up to 50% to help ensure that you’ll get the best signal possible. This unit comes with two high-gain antennae and has an RJ45 ethernet port for connection to a router. This uses cellular and internet paths to provide users with full redundancy which means if one path fails then the other takes over so you’re not left unprotected. The first one is the IP BAT LTE Dual Path Communicator. The self-monitoring devices Alula offers are either dual path cellular and internet or internet communicators that you can add to hardwired, and some wireless alarm systems to give users their own alarm notifications and remote control of their security systems.Īlula currently offers two communicators that you can use. Alula was formerly known as IPDatatel and recently joined forces with Resolution Products who was another leader in security technology. Today we’re going to be discussing Alula - Another DIY friendly option for remote control and self-monitoring with your alarm system. Total Connect 2.0 Package Monitoring Add-Ons.Central Station Alarm Monitoring Services. You just have to make sure the current alarm company doesn't do anything to prevent your BAT-Connect from being activated on a new account with a different alarm company. I just listed several DIY-friendly alarm companies that support the Alula platform in another post. You can take the system to another alarm company that supports Alula. If I decide to leave this alarm company for whatever reason, does my Alula stuff become obsolete? I'm just trying to understand what exactly I would be getting myself into if I go this route If you don't need this, you can get the same service for $20/month. Part of what you're paying extra for is the ability to pick up the phone and call someone when something goes wrong that you can't fix. Same goes for the mobile app you install on your phone. It's just like any other dual-path communicator, and their platform does the same thing as or Alarmnet Total Connect. If you want specific equipment, you should learn how to install and program it yourself.Īll of your questions are easily answered by just looking at the Alula web site and doing a little reading. But that's better than them installing something they're unfamiliar with and not being able to support it. They're doing what's best for them, not what's best for you. They're offering the DSC equipment because that's what they're familiar with. If I decide to leave this alarm company for whatever reason, does my Alula stuff become obsolete? I'm just trying to understand what exactly I would be getting myself into if I go this route. This seems like a lot compared to either the $8.50/month EnvisAlarm monitoring cost. The alarm company is quoting us $19/month for monitoring, plus $12/month for "additional cellular airtime costs" associate with Alula, plus $3/month for "adding interactive smartphone controls to be able to arm/disarm". My question is - How exactly does the Alula Bat-Connect work, and how does it compare with EnvisaLink? Can you use Alula to connect the alarm to your phone, and self monitor from there, with no monthly cost? Does Alula offer a monitoring service? Regarding DSC vs Honeywell, they claim the DSC is more user friendly. The alarm company I am working with is now suggesting the DSC PC1616 + Alula Bat-Connect + Alula touchscreen panel. I would then use EnvisAlarm for cheap monitoring, and if I wanted to, I could always self monitor. Previously I was set on getting a Honeywell Vista + 6290 touchscreen panel + EnvisaLink to connect this to my phone. Currently looking into which alarm system to go with. We are building a new house and moving in next month.
